Platform architecture
Service boundaries, APIs and data flows that make sense on day one and still make sense on day 1,000.
01Hello
I’m a Platform Architect. I design backend systems that stay calm when traffic grows and stay simple when the team changes. Cheerful about the work, precise about the details.
02The name
People ask about the name, so here is the short story. It has three parts.
Wawan Kurniawan. Short, simple, mine.
This is a person, not a company. One name for my work, my notes and my side projects.
I was born in July. Seven is also for Sheila on 7, a band I love.
The logo is seven bars that draw a W. The last bar is gold. The dot on top is a ball, because I still love football.
03What I do
In plain words: I design the shared parts that many teams use every day. When those parts are solid, everyone moves faster.
Service boundaries, APIs and data flows that make sense on day one and still make sense on day 1,000.
Go with Gin, Python with FastAPI, Node.js with Next.js. I pick the tool that fits the job, not the trend.
Templates, CI/CD and clear docs, so the right way is also the easy way.
04Selected work
I’m writing up a few projects. Each one will be short: the problem, what I built, and what I learned.
05Off the clock
I once dreamed of starting a pop rock band. I still listen like I’m in one. Sheila on 7 is always on the playlist.
As a kid I wanted to be an athlete. Now I play / watch [CONFIRM]. The bouncing dot in my logo is a keepie-uppie.
One day I want to live in the Gulf. The desert gold on this site is a small nod to that plan.
I’m improving my English, one conversation at a time. This site uses simple words on purpose.
